I have been a long-time reader of Deccan Herald. I still read the paper every day and particularly prize its excellent city reporting. More recently I have developed a closer association with Prajavani, where I have a fortnightly column. Wherever I travel in Karnataka, I meet engaged readers of my column, who offer sharp and perceptive criticisms of the kind I rarely encounter from my readers in English. These conversations have demonstrated to me the enormous credibility and standing of Prajavani, a newspaper that plays a vital role in the cultural and intellectual life of the state.
I love the Deccan Herald. I think it is the best newspaper and each supplement is special, whether it’s their coverage of culture and art, or Spectrum, and even animals and wildlife. Deccan Herald offers a range of topics to its loyal audience, which provides us with a variety that no other newspaper offers.
Prajavani has the kind of energy that can influence the way people of Karnataka think. I like everything in the daily--- the writing style, its balanced approach, not surrendering to sensationalism and staying far from gimmicks. Prajavani is seen as a credible source of information for the people in Karnataka and this should be a matter of pride for the newspaper.
The articles on Science and Technology that appear in the paper are simplified in a manner that even a commoner can understand it with ease. They also carry a good number of stories about space and astronomy.
Prajavani is the best Kannada paper because the news reporting is very objective and trustworthy. It is my family's favorite publication.
It is the language and the social awareness of the paper that sets Prajavani apart from the rest. Even till date, the newspaper has maintained its standards. This newspaper has the legacy of standing by the literary renaissance movement in that period.
Through Mayura, I have been able to get readers from all walks of life. Many readers of Mayura are in touch with me through letters and calls and many of them have a bond with me, thanks to your magazine. There is no greater happiness than this for a writer. I am proud to tell you that Mayura has been one of the finest magazines in Kannada journalism and maintains a fine balance across all aspects.
Media shoulders the responsibility of establishing a healthy society. Prajavani must be lauded for having taken up the responsibility effectively. Prajavani has, over the years, taught how one could report objectively without sensationalizing news. They have stood true to their tagline of being 'The most trustworthy Kannada newspaper'.
My first Kannada novel serialised in Sudha in 1973. I was in Ethiopia (Africa) as a lecturer then. I still write for Sudha and my 19th novel was published in Sudha recently. Sudha publishes nothing but the best.
I am a regular reader of DH. The issues covered are contemporary. Be it nation, Karnataka or Bengaluru, a thorough job is done by journalists. The presentation is also appealing.
